Plugs can be located around the car’s engine block and cylinder head. They are also known as Core Plugs, Expansion Plugs, Welch Plugs or Sealing Discs.

The function of these engine Plugs is to seal holes left in the block and cylinder head.

In the event of an engine overheat, these Plugs may give way under the pressure of the expanding coolant, resulting in a rapid loss of coolant. Rust may also cause coolant leaks. Look out for stains running down the engine block.
